Position Overview:

The Technical OEM Account Manager is responsible for building and managing strategic relationships with key OEM clients in the engine generator and industrial packaging markets. This role requires technical knowledge, account management expertise, and coordination across internal departments. The position serves as the primary point of contact for assigned OEM accounts and is accountable for ensuring customer satisfaction, supporting product development, and driving long-term business growth.

Job Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in technical sales, OEM account management, sales engineering, or business development.

· Demonstrated success managing and growing relationships with major OEMs (e.g., Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU).

· Strong knowledge of generator enclosures, exhaust systems, acoustic components, and engineered-to-order products.

· Experience managing complex sales cycles and leading cross-functional teams.

· Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

· High level of accountability, organization, and attention to detail.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

· Hybrid work environment requiring both office presence in Lakeville, MN, and travel to customer sites or industry events (up to 25%).

· Ability to sit, stand, and walk in both office and manufacturing environments.

· Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Roles & Responsibilites

· Serve as the primary liaison between AES and assigned OEM clients, managing all aspects of the customer relationship.

· Develop and maintain long-term partnerships across technical, purchasing, and leadership levels.

· Lead technical discussions regarding new product development, engineering changes, and quality issues.

· Coordinate internal resources to address order timelines, engineering requests, product approvals, and issue resolution.

· Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and collaborate with the sales team to pursue growth initiatives.

· Provide technical guidance throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry to delivery.

· Communicate customer feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement.

· Represent AES at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.

· Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory changes impacting OEM clients.

· Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and prepare account activity reports.
