Job Description
The Lead Welder works as a hands-on welder while also leading and supporting a team of welders on the production floor. This role makes sure daily welding tasks are completed on time, weld quality meets standards, and safety procedures are followed. The Lead Welder helps train new welders, troubleshoots issues, and communicates team needs to the Production Supervisor.
Available Shifts
Choose the schedule that works best for you:
1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:15 PM – 2:30 AM
These schedules offer built-in days off and consistent hours.
Salary: $28.00-$37.00 per hour

Job Requirements
• 3–5 years of welding experience, preferably in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Previous experience leading or training team members is a plus.
• Strong MIG welding skills; other welding processes are helpful.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
• Able to pass an AES weld test.
Skills Needed
• Strong welding knowledge and attention to detail.
• Good communicator who can guide and support team members.
• Dependable and able to manage priorities on the floor.
• Works well independently and with a team.
Physical Requirements
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Able to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and sparks.
• PPE use required.
Roles & Responsibilites
Team Leadership
• Assign and track daily welding tasks to keep production on schedule.
• Support and train welders on proper techniques, safety, and equipment use.
• Step in to help with questions, rework, or complex welds.
• Act as the go-to contact for welders when the supervisor is not available.
Welding & Production Support
• Perform MIG welding on mild steel, stainless, and other materials.
• Handle more difficult or critical welds as needed.
• Check welds and finished parts for accuracy and quality.
• Keep the team focused on meeting deadlines while maintaining quality.
Safety & Equipment
• Lead by example in following all AES safety rules.
• Make sure welders are using PPE and safe practices.
• Monitor welding equipment, tools, and work areas, reporting issues as needed.
Continuous Improvement
• Watch for ways to reduce rework and improve workflow.
• Share feedback with the Production Supervisor on team performance and needs.
• Help cross-train welders to increase flexibility in the department.
